Cycling is romance.

At least to me. The interplay of human and machine, where the human can become the machine, fascinated me even as a little boy – and that is how I caught the cycling bug.

Today I am a professional cyclist, striving for success and peak performance. Even so, I enjoy every day on the bike, because cycling is my passion.

2026 season

The comeback.

New team, new colours – and then the setback: at Omloop Nieuwsblad at the end of February, Stefan Küng crashed and broke his left femur. Four months later he was back on the start line – and by August he was winning again.

    Victory in the closing individual time trial in Wieliczka – his first win in Tudor colours.

    La VueltaWin

    Stage win in the 32.1 km time trial from El Puerto de Santa María to Jerez de la Frontera. After Madrid 2024, his second time trial win at the Vuelta.

Milestones

  1. 2014: U23 European champion on road and track

    In Nyon he wins the U23 European road race and time trial, in Anadia the individual and team pursuit. Plus silver and bronze at the elite track Worlds in Cali.

  2. 2015: Track world champion

    World title in the individual pursuit in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines. In the same year: team time trial world champion with BMC and European champion in Grenchen.

  3. 2018: Stage win at the Tour

    With BMC Racing Team he wins the team time trial in Cholet. At the Tour de Suisse he takes the time trial in Bellinzona.

  4. 2019: Worlds bronze in Yorkshire

    Bronze in the World Championships road race from Leeds to Harrogate, raced in pouring rain.

  5. 2020: European time trial champion

    Gold in Plouay, time trial bronze at the Worlds in Imola and Swiss champion in both the road race and the time trial.

  6. 2021: Title defended

    European champion again, this time in Trento. At the Tokyo Olympics he narrowly misses a medal in fourth place.

  7. 2022: Mixed relay world champion

    Gold with the Swiss team in Wollongong, silver in the individual time trial and third at Paris–Roubaix.

  8. 2023: World champion again

    The Swiss mixed relay team defends its title in Glasgow. At the Tour de Suisse he wins the opening time trial in Einsiedeln.

  9. 2024: Stage win at the Vuelta

    Wearing the Swiss champion’s jersey, he wins the final time trial in Madrid. At the Paris Olympics he finishes in the top 10 twice.

    2026: Back stronger

    After breaking his femur he wins in Poland and at the Vuelta, then takes bronze with the mixed relay at the Worlds in Montréal.
